2013 Adoptions
Mojo is a light brindle male that came from the Sanford Orlando Race Track. He has no races listed so retired before his career really started. He is a young one that just turned two on April 18th. Mojo is a Kiowa Sweet Trey pup so is a half brother to Canadian Passion that arrived on the same load and a whole bunch of other super sweet dogs we have placed. He has a very low prey drive so should be great with cats and small dogs and has been living with a very tiny dog. Mojo seems like a pretty calm boy for one so young. He has shown that he can be stressed by being alone and prefers to be with his people or with other dogs. He likes to snuggle and will walk right up to you and lean in for petting. He is good on leash. Mojo loves children and has done great with them in his home. He does potty well on leash so might be good for a home without a fenced yard. Mojo would not be a good apartment dog though because he tends to be a little more vocal than most greyhounds. |

Hotdog just retired from the Sanford Orlando race track but spent most of his racing career at Palm Beach. He has 45 races to his credit. Hotdog is a black male that raced at 75lbs. He just turned two on Feb 16th. His sire is Trent Lee and his dam is Jawa Whelton. Hotdog played nicely with all dogs at the dog park including small dogs. Even one that looked like a white rabbit. He came to us when we called him and followed us to the gate when we left. Hot Dog is so laid back, nothing bothers him & our female greyt is the boss which is fine with him. They play well together, he loves the stuffed toys. Walks perfectly on leash...no pulling. He is a counter surfer..so we've been working on that. He just loves everybody & is one happy dude!!! Potties outside in the yard and on leash. Not sure about cats yet still needs to be tested. He complains about being left in a crate sometimes so probably won't be a good choice to live in an apartment. Hopefully that may change some since he's getting more comfortable being in a home environment. Whoever gets this sweet boy will have an awesome friend and greyt dog!! |

Amour is a beautiful, tiny white girl with black spots. She raced at only 54lbs so is very tiny. Her sire is Fuzzys Cannon and her dam is Ultimate Deva. Her birthday is Dec 4th. She has 14 races to her credit and started our racing at Palm Beach then moved to Sanford Orlando but never won a race. She is a very silly girl that loves to run in circles in the yard while barking happily. She doesn't care if anyone joins her and often is the only one running. She does this every turnout and seems like a higher energy gal that will need a fence yard to play in since she likes to run every time she goes outside. She got along well with the other girls at the track. She passed her cat test at the track so should be able to live with cats and small dogs. She is in a foster home with small dogs and has been fine with them. She seems like a very outgoing, happy girl. Amour is doing great in her foster home and is very well behaved and sweet. What a pretty girl!! Amour passed away suddenly due to kidney failure. |

Little Face got her nickname because she has such a tiny face with huge eyes. She is a pretty, tiny girl that raced at just 56lbs. Her birthday is July 31st. Little Face is very friendly, sweet and calm. She was good in the kennel and kept her kennel clean and never had accidents. Her trainers at the Sanford Orlando track really liked her and said she really has a very sweet personality and that is what her foster home said about her too. A really sweet, easy greyhound that loves people. She can be a little timid to begin with but warms up very fast. Little Face has 98 races to her credit and raced at several tracks. Her sire was TK Quick Strike and her dam is Audacious. We think she may be trainable with cats. She passed her first cat test easily but was a little interested in a different cat later so we listed her as probably trainable. She will need a careful introduction and will need supervision at first. We can introduce her and evaluate her with your specific cat as some dogs can react differently to cats that look different. She would be an easy first or third greyhound and seems like she will calmly fit into about any home. Check out her new photos - she is a star and was on the news!! |

Declan just arrived from Derby Lane in Florida. He was a star racer but was on a break from racing due to a broken toe. When the first toe healed up he broke another toe so they just decided to retire him rather than risk any more toes. Declan's birthday is October 15th, 2010. His sire is the famous Oshkosh Slammer so he is a half brother to a bunch of dogs we have adopted out. His dam is Dixie Stampede. Declan is an extra large guy at 86lbs. We have some of the biggest boys we have ever adopted out available right now. If you like big, friendly, playful boys Declan could be your guy. On the trip up from the track he found a glove that he was tossing around in the back of the van. Definitely a guy that isn't stressed by being in a vehicle or around strangers. He likes everyone he meets and doesn't seem to get worried or stressed by anything. He still needs to be tested with cats but has been very good with the small dogs he has met and hasn't even shown interest in chasing squirrels in the yard so we think he will probably be cat safe as well. Declan crates quietly and likes to sleep in his crate so might be quiet enough for apartment living. He is a total love bug that will stand patiently and wait to be petted and will follow you around. He does well with the other male dogs in his foster home and has just settled in like he has always been there. He only had one accident in the house when potty training. He doesn't counter surf and is very well behaved. If he does anything wrong an "UH UH" is all it takes to make him stop. Because of his two broken toes his racing trainer doesn't think he would be a good performance dog prospect for agility or lure coursing. He is fine to run and play with other dogs, hike, go for walks or jogs with his owner though. Those toes shouldn't bother him as a pet. |

Murphy is a very handsome black brindle- we don't get many this color. He has 27 races listed at Lincoln Park where he raced at 72lbs. His sire is DK's Prime Time and his dam is Stat E Tara. He will celebrate his 9th birthday on June 23rd. Murphy has had some very bad luck and has been in a couple of different homes and he was returned to us this time in pretty poor condition. He is expected to make a full recovery but needs to put on quite a few lbs. One of his former families did a lot of obedience training with him so Murphy comes with a lot of training. This is a smart boy with excellent house manners too. Murphy was a certified Therapy Dog and participated in Therapy Dog visits with one of his previous owners so is a very special guy that is wonderful with children and adults and very well behaved in public settings. He walks nicely on leash, doesn't jump and calmly and politely goes up to people for love. Murphy was great with the cats he met at the vet clinic and gave them kisses so we think he will be fine living with them. He was fine with small dogs he did Therapy Dog visits with. Although Murphy has always been great with small dogs and all dogs he has met, because of an incident that Murphy MAY have been involved in years ago, we would rather not place him in a home with small dogs. He is fine with other dogs and gets along well with everyone though in our experience. Murphy raced 27 races at the now closed Lincoln Park. |

Annika just arrived from the Jacksonville Race Track. She was a very successful racer and raced more than 240 races. It is pretty unsual for a racer to continue racing well into their 5th year and she turned 5 on June 2nd. Annika was still running OK and making money for her trainer but they chose to go ahead and retire her so she could get her own family and couch. She is a beautiful muscular girl that is very short but stocky and raced at 58lbs. She is calm but very friendly and seems to have an excellent personality and is just gorgeous. Her sire is the famous Lonesome Cry and her dam is GS Gladice. Annika was a special order for one of our families that met her at the race track and has been waiting on her to retire so she may not actually be available for adoption. So far she has been very well behaved in her foster home and is very good with their baby and even guinea pigs. |

Dee raced at Derby Lane and Sanford Orlando most recently. She has 33 races to her credit and raced at 65lbs. Her sire is Freak Show and her dam is Lil Law Dawg. Her birthday is Dec 13th. She passed her cat test at the track so should be fine to live with cats and small dogs. She is a gorgeous nearly all white girl with only some red spots on her ears and one tiny patch of red on one eye. Dee is very friendly and happily greets everyone she meets with a very waggy tail. She does try to give hugs sometimes so we are working on teaching her to keep all 4 feet on the floor. She is very curious and the first thing she does is put her paws up on things to check them out better - like a shopping cart in a parking lot and a couch, table and dog crate in her foster home. Dee corrects easily though and will learn she doesn't need to climb on things. It does show that she is very curious and not afraid of new things or new experiences. Maybe a good agility dog? She made just a little noise in her crate at first but quieted down right away on her own and slept all night her first night in a home. In the morning she fussed a little in the crate but correct fast and settled right down after only two corrections. Dee traveled well on the dog haul so seems like a dog that would be comfortable in just about any situation. |

Dora came from the Orange Park Track in Jacksonville Fl. She raced at 58lbs and she will turn 3 on April 10th. Dora passed her cat test at the track and has done fine with the small dogs in her foster home. Her sire is the famous Lonesome Cry and her dam is Atascocita Reya. She is a friendly girl that is very sweet and loving. She was raised around small kids and is doing great with the kids in her foster home. She is a beautiful girl that is well behaved and never had an accident in her foster home. This is a great girl that has looks and a great personality. |

Patrick just retired from Derby Lane in Florida. He was an amazing racer. He was a finalist in the St Petersburg Inaugural in 2013. He was a Matinee Idol Finalist in 2012 and Season's fastest Derby Lane race time 30.22. This guy was a big star! His sire was also very famous - Dodgem By Design and his dam was Akoya Pearl. He raced at 73lbs and has 132 races to his credit. He is a friendly, happy, boy that was one of the kennel favorites. Personality, looks and an amazing athlete - this guy has it all! He is 3.5 years old and celebrates his 4th birthday August 18th. His race trainer has lots of photos of this guy that she will be glad to share that were taken during his career. We still need to cat and small dog dog test Patrick. More as we get to know him. |

Major is an all white, extra large boy that raced at 82lbs. He does have a few fawn freckles in his coat. He just arrived from Derby Lane in Florida and also raced at Southland in Arkansas. His sire is the very famous Molotov so he is related to a lot of dogs we have placed. His dam is Molly Shanan. Major's birthday is Dec 1st 2009. He has 30 races to his credit and was quite the star winning AA races (the top level for the fastest dogs) and competing in Stakes races. He is a friendly, happy boy. Major needs a home without cats but he passed his test with a small dog at his foster home. More as we get to know him. |

Magic is a sweet, friendly boy that just retired from the Orlando Race Track. He has 49 races listed and raced at 78lbs so is a bigger guy. His sire is Freak Show and his Dam is Malwa Passion. We just adopted one of his sisters from the same mom but out of a later litter - Canadian Passion. Magic's birthday is June 3rd. He is a calm, well behaved guy. When we spent time with him at the track he was very quiet in his crate and was careful not to mess up his crate. He did what he was told when it was time to go outside to potty and didn't have accidents in the kennel. He is mostly white with just a few red spots and the sweetest, most gentle eyes. He didn't pay any attention to the cats and small dogs at the vets office so seems like he will be fine to live with either. He has been living with a small furry white dog in his foster home and did well with him. Magic travels well and did great on the long trip up from Florida. He had a minor injury to his shoulder that caused him to retire but that is totally healed now. Magic has been a great foster and did great at his first meet and greet calmly soaking up all the attention that people gave him. He was good with kids and adults and didn't seem nervous. He was great on the shiny floors at PetSmart too. With his calm sweet nature he seems like he would be a really easy first greyhound. He is quiet in his crate so we think he would do well in an apartment or townhouse. |

Hashbrown is a sweet little brindle girl that will be arriving soon from Orlando. She has 71 races listed and raced at 58lbs. Her sire is Kiowa Mon Manny and her dam is Pat C No Harmony. She celebrates her 3rd birthday on April 29th. Hashbrown passed her cat and small dog test at the track so should be fine living with either. Hashbrown is a sweet calm girl that is friendly and just got into the van and laid down so seems to be a very good traveler. Her foster home says she is settling in very well and is doing great with their cats. Update on Hashbrown: She was adopted and renamed Scully. Shortly after adoption, she lost weight and nearly died. After a lot of testing vets diagnosed her with a Pancreatic insufficiency and she recovered but has to have digestive enzymes added to her food for the rest of her life. She is happy very happy at home with her mom and dad. |

May is a young white girl with black spots. She is playful and energetic because of being such a young girl. She is sweet, happy, very outgoing and social. She was a little interested in the cats at first during her cat test but is excitable about most new things. We think she may be OK with them with some supervison and training because she seems to respond well to correction. She has been living in a home with a number of small dogs and was great with them. Her sire is Group Rooster and her dam is Indian Bride. May just turned two on Feb 18th. She only has one race listed. If you want a cute, young, puppyish girl May is the one for you. Because May has shown some sleep startle behaviors we think she would probably do best in a home with no young kids. She loves everyone she meets and has done very well at meet and greets with everyone she meets - kids and adults. She loves attention and will roll over for belly rubs. |

Boots is another girl that was a pretty good racer. She has 14 races listed including some stakes races. She was retired due to a broken leg and became a mom. She has 8 puppies listed that she raised and is now ready to find a couch of her own. Boots is a sweet girl that is quiet and seems very calm. She doesn't wag a lot or bounce around. Just calmly friendly and looks up at you with those huge brown eyes waiting to be petted. Her sire is DK"s Prime Time and her dam is Statin My Case. Boots raced at 65lbs and her birthday is June 15th. Be sure to check her other pictures to see some beautiful ones of her racing! Boots is 7 but could pass for 3 because she has almost no white on her face. If you want a pretty, sweet, quiet, loving girl that is laid back and very good, Boots is your girl!! She is living with a small dog in her foster home and is very good with small dogs. Boots is a little to interested in chasing cats to think she will be safe living with kitties. Boots has good manners in her foster home and nearly potty trained herself. She is very calm and loving. She would be an easy first time greyhound. Her old broken hock was healed long ago and doesn't seem to bother her and definitely doesn't slow her down. She can still run and play with other dogs and likes to go for walks. |

Roy just arrived as a special order for a previous greyhound adopter that lives in Alaska. He will be shipped to her as soon as he is neutered and is cleared for travel. He just arrived from the Tri State adoption kennel and we were surprised to see that he is a littermate to Shane's Top Pick that is also available for adoption that came from Orlando. Roy is a happy outgoing guy that seems like he travels well and will handle the long flight to Alaska with no trouble. He plays with toys and interacts very well with every one he meets. We think he may be good for the dog sports that his owner would like to do with him. His sire is KIowa Mon Manny and his dam is Greys Royal Ivy. His birthday is Feb 14th and he just turned 2. He has no official races listed. |

Snuggle Bear is a sweet older girl that had two careers. The first as a very fine racer that raced at quite a few tracks successfully. Then she had a second career as a mom. She was a good mom and has 19 pups listed. She is finally is ready for a couch now. This is a sweet, friendly girl which is how she got the name Snuggle Bear. She is very calm and well behaved and seems to be a very wise lady. Snuggle Bear qualifies for a reduced adoption fee because she is older - just don't tell her we told you her age. Her DOB is 9/23/01. Snuggle Bear raced at 58lbs so is a smaller girl. She has a cute little tiny face as you can see in her picture. Her sire is the famous Rocksteady Eddie and her dam is Times Flying. Snuggle Bear gets along with other greyhounds very well but still needs to be tested with cats and small dogs. She had a broken leg which caused her to retire initially. She has a bit of a limp on that leg when walking but it doesn't slow her down much when she runs around. She still enjoys running around and has a lot of personality. Snuggle Bear has no idea she has a bad leg or that she is an older girl. She still is very bouncy and happy and greets everyone enthusiastically. If you call her name she comes running to you. She had to have quite a few teeth removed when we got her but still has some left and will still be able to eat normally. She has been a perfect lady in her foster home and has been so perfectly behaved you would think she had been in a home before. Snuggle Bear is a sweet, lovinging girl that would love to have a home and couch of her own. She will be a wonderful easy girl. |

Pensee just arrived from the Sanford Orlando Race Track and is a small black female that raced at 56lbs. She is very friendly and happy and gives kisses. Her sire is the famous Oshkosh Slammer and her dam is PeanutsMintPatty. Pensee is 2.5 and will celebrate her 3rd birthday on August 2nd. She has 36 races listed. She passed her cat test at the track so should be OK to live with cats and small dogs. More as we get to know her. |

Bacardi is a small black female that raced at 57lbs. She only has two races listed and came in 7th and 8th in them. She didn't seem like she was going to be very competitive so was retired young. Bacardi passed her cat test so should be OK to live with cats and small dogs and did very good at a dog park she want to playing with small and large dogs nicely. She is a very young girl so still is energetic and has a little puppy in her. She will celebrate her 2nd birthday on February 18th. She is a littermate to SS Mayflower that was just adopted. Her sire is Group Rooster so she is also a half sister to Oneco Fitzgerald that we recently placed. Her dam is Indian Bride. Bacardi has done very well with the children and a baby that she met so should be fine for a family with kids. |

We adopted Guy to a family back in 2008. We just were contacted by a vet that had a greyhound abandoned there. When we checked the ear tattoos we discovered it was Guy. So Guy is available again at 7 years old. His DOB is Jan 15th of 2006. He has been in an adoptive home since 2008. He is good with cats and small dogs and lived in a home with kids and was wonderful with them. Guy has a very unusual roman nose that makes him very special and cute. His sire is TNT Star Wars and his dam is Coldwater Beth. Guy has come into foster care and is very well behaved. He sleeps in bed with his foster mom and is very loving. He gets along great with a pit bull puppy in his foster home and pays no attention to the cats that live there. He is a very good boy that settled in like he had always been there and seems very happy and well adjusted. Guy does need a fenced yard because he doesn't potty well on leash. He does get nervous in thunderstorms. Guy began limping while in foster care and sadly was diagnosed with osteosarcoma (bone cancer). There is no cure only pain management. One of the vet techs that cared for him decided to adopt him. Guy survived more than a year before losing his battle with cancer. |

Cherry is a sweet, outgoing girl with the cutest tiny, pointy ears. When she gets excited they pop straight up and make her look a little like a doberman. Most of the time they are folded and flopped forward on her face though. Really cute and they give her such character. She will be easy to spot in a crowd of greyhounds because of her cute unusual ears. Cherry was a pretty good racer that has 150 races to her credit. She just retired from Sanford Orlando Track but spent most of her career racing at Palm Beach. Her sire is Maryville Rumble and her dam is Jawa Pattie. Cherry will celebrate her 4th birthday on March 7th. She passed her cat test with no real interest so should be fine to live with cats or small dogs. In her photo she looks a little sad but we had just woken her up from a nap. This is not a sad girl - just the opposite. |

Boy is a stunning, dark red brindle male with lots of white on his chest and feet. He has the prettiest rich red coat that looks almost mahogany. He raced at 67lbs so is a smaller guy. His DOB is Aug 11, 2009 so he is 3 years old. He raced 90 races in Tuscon AZ and most recently Sanford Orlando. Boy passed his cat test at the track but was a little interested in a cat he met in foster care so we have him listed as cat trainable. He did respond to correction well and seems to want to please. His sire is TNT Star Wars so he is a half brother to several dogs we have placed and his dam is Unblemished. He is a very friendly, happy guy that seems to be a mid level energy guy. He travels well and was very good on the dog haul. Boy loves playing with toys and collects them if he finds them laying around, he likes to find the squeaker in toys and thinks he needs to find it and take it out. He seems to get along great with small dogs, even very playful ones that lick his face and bother him. Seems like a tolerant guy that has a wonderful, loving personality. Boy is in a foster family that has several young children and he has been very good with them including a 5 month old baby!! They say he is very well behaved and very sweet and is their favorite foster so far. Â |

Aspen is a sweet red girl that is a sister to a girl we recently adopted out named Easi Saint. She just arrived from the Orange Park Race Track. She raced at 60lbs and is a calm, sweet beautiful girl. Her sire is the famous Dodgem By Design and her dam is Greys Storm Gust. Aspen passed her cat test at the track so should be fine to live with cats and small dogs. So far she has done great with the children in her foster home. Aspen is doing great in foster care and is a very good girl that is sweet and loving. |

His sire is Droopys Kewell and his dam is reunite. His birthday is August 18th. He is a happy and friendly guy that started playing with toys the first day in his foster home and trying to get the other dogs to play with him. |

Brian is a friendly sweet boy that seems pretty calm and laid back. He raced at 6 different race tracks in several states and had a long successful career becoming an A racer and even racing in a few Stakes races. He has 142 races listed. His sire is the famous Dodgem By Design and his dam is Little Kimiko which is the littermate to a dog we placed already. Brian is a beautiful red brindle with only a little striping which makes him very handsome. He raced at 74lbs so is a mid sized male. He is very sweet and seems like he will be calm and well behaved. He has been living in a foster home with a small dog. He hasn't even tried to mark once in the house. He isn't too fond of his kennel and prefers to be in the same room with the people. He has been a little vocal about being in the crate as he has gotten settled in so may not be the best dog for apartment living. He pulls some on leash so we are working on his leash manners. |

Northern was a very successful racer that has 232 races to her credit all at a track in Mexico which may be a record for dogs we have adopted out. After she finished racing she had a second career as a mom in Kansas and has 13 puppies listed. Northern is a sweet, friendly girl that seems like a pretty calm girl. She has that quiet confident manner that momma dogs seem to have. She is very pretty. Her sire is the famous Gable Dodge and her dam is Flying Charmin. She celebrates her birthday on April 29th and doesn't look her age at all. She is quiet in her crate. |

Ice is a very young boy that never raced. We got him directly from the farm he was raised on because he just wasn't interested in chasing the lure during training. He has a low prey drive and should be good with small animals. He was raised around small children so should also be good with them. He seems like a very calm, well behaved guy for one that is still basically a puppy. He doesn't turn 2 until June 15th. He is so cute and fuzzy! His sire is Kelsos Fusileer and his dam is Cayenne Kauai. He does have a very tiny brindle spot by his right eye and another small brindle spot on his side but he is nearly all white and very handsome. More as we get to know him. |

Baby is a girl we met at a visit to the track and fell in love with because of her happy personality and her full body wag that she does when meeting new people. Every stranger is a potential new friend for her. They called her Vanna but also called her Baby a lot of the time and she seems to answer even better to that. We have been waiting on her to retire for a for awhile. She was a good racer that raced a long time. Baby was considered a "pet" in her racing kennel and was given extra attention and her trainer calls us regularily to check in on her and see how she is doing. She is a red fawn with a white chest and feet and very pretty. Baby is 60lbs and her date of birth is Aug 1 2008. She passed her cat test so could live in a home with cats. She is a littermate to Betta Recognize that we placed years ago and KnockemoutGeorge that we just placed. Baby's sire is Dodgem By Design and her dam is Sky Robber. We have adopted out lots of Dodgem By Design pups that are her half sibs and we expect her to be a wonderful pet like they have been. Baby crates well and keeps her crate totally clean. She did make some noise in her crate at first but has quieted down a lot now. We aren't sure if she would be quiet enough to live in an apartment or townhouse though. She will need a home with a fenced yard because she hasn't gone potty on leash very often and prefers to trot around on her own looking for the perfect place. Part of the problem with going potty on leash is that she will just stand next to you gazing up at you with love waiting for petting rather than sniffing around. She is THAT sweet and loving! This gal has a LOT of personality and seems like she will be a fun, devoted, playful pet. She has done great with her potty training and house rules and seems like she will be an easy, well behaved girl. She has been great with the children she has met at our events and goes right up to them with her tail wagging. She actually goes up to everyone happily wanting attention. A very outgoing little girl! So SWEET! |

Aero is a girl that one of our families has been waiting on to retire. She raced at Orange Park and most recently Sanford Orlando and has 139 races listed. She is a pretty black girl that is bouncy, happy and friendly. She seems like she is a higher energy girl. Aero raced at 58lbs so is a smaller girl. Her sire is the famous Flying Penske and her dam is Ucme Cash Money. |

Canada was supposed to come to us in another load but didn't end up making it because she won a race. She didn't do well racing after that though so was retired young after only 5 official races. Her trainer said she is laid back and calm and picked her for a first time foster home. Canada is a red girl that raced at 63lbs. She will celebrate her 2nd birthday on Feb 13. Her Sire is the very famous Kiowa Sweet Trey so she is a half sister to a bunch of other dogs we placed: Her dam is Malawa Passion. She travels well and just laids down in the van on the trip up. She walks nicely on leash and seems like a pretty calm girl, but she is a young girl so has some energy. If you talk to her she will come over for affection and will lean in for love. She follows her foster mom around and loves to stay close. She is well behaved but occasionally steals stuff like paper or socks. She does complain when left in her crate and sings along when she hears a siren go by so would not be the best dog for an apartment. She passed her cat and small dog test so should be able to live with either. We have her listed as older kids only because she has been a little possessive with toys. She isn't a very confident girl at all so is easy to correct if she does anything wrong. She can be a little stubborn if she really wants something occasionally though. |

Brindy just arrived. She was adopted by her pet owners as a small puppy so never raced and never was registered or tattooed. She was obtained through someone in Florida initially but we got her from the Hunane Society of Rutherfordton, NC. We have no information on who her parents are or even where she actually came from. She loves people and gives kisses but doesn't appear to have had much socialization with other dogs as a puppy. She was pretty nervous around other dogs when she first arrived but has settled into her foster home with a lot of other dogs quite well. According to her vet paperwork, Brindy just celebrated her 4th birthday Dec 4th. Brindy is discovering how to run like a greyhound. She only had access to a very small yard for most of her life. She loves running in her foster home's huge yard and loves to play with toys. She loves to lay on couches and is already a couch potato. She bonded the fastest to her foster dad but likes her foster mom too. Such a cute girl! |

Tom is a striking small, young, bright red, brindle boy that weighs 65lb and is mostly red without a lot of striping. He passed his cat and small dog tests and is OK to live with either. Tom was pretty shy when he first arrived but after living in an adoptive home for a year has become much more outgoing. Tom is an economy return that is available again through no fault of his own. His owner loved him and tried to keep him but just couldn't do it. Greyhounds rarely make good watchdogs but Tom may be the exception to that rule. He will bark a couple of barks to let you know people have arrived at the house. For this reason Tom would probably not be the best dog for an apartment or townhouse. Tom walks great on leash and is a happy boy that has good house manners. He does need to go outside every 4 or 5 hours and can't hold it for an entire work day like some greyhounds can. He will need someone that can come home at lunch to let him out or someone that works shorter days. We have him marked older kids only because loud running children have made him nervous in the past. He has been absolutely fine with kids at the meet and greets he has gone to and with visiting children but living with small kids would probably be stressful for him. We think Tom would do best in a home with other dogs to hang out with when people leave because he does seem to stress when he is left totally alone but does much better when he is with other dogs. Tom celebrated his 4th birthday on Christmas day. Just look at that cute puppy face! Already home acclimated too! |

Nelly is a brindle female that raced at 60lbs and has 50 races listed. She raced at Sanford Orlando Race track and her birthday is May 19th 2010 so she is 2.5 now. Her sire is Bob's Skeet and her dam is D O Slam Jam. She passed her cat test so should be fine to live with cats or small dogs. She needs a little work on leash manners still and is reported to be a bit of a drama queen sometimes. She has done fantastic on her potty training and house manners and is already allowed free run of the house when her foster family is home. She wants to please and gets her feelings hurt if she gets into any trouble at all. She gets along well with the other dogs in her home and has done well with small kids she has met. She is a very sweet loving girl that is outgoing but tends to be a little bit submissive so should get along well with more dominant males or females. |

This handsome boy is being rehomed with permission from Greyhound Friends of NC who adopted him originally in April 2012. He's been living peacefully with small dogs and children, and we have every reason to believe he's completely safe with cats as well. His greeting with every dog he's met has been perfect and he loves attention from every human that crosses his path. He's quiet, sweet, and looks as if he'll be very happy in almost any situation. We aren't sure what his original kennel or home names were, but he seems to respond to "Buddy" so we're using that for now. The first family to meet him will surely fall head over heals in love! |

Dynomite is an outgoing, happy guy that is a littermate to a dog that we placed awhile back. When we found out that he was at a track adoption kennel looking for a home, we had to get him. As luck would have it, we had a family contact us looking for a greyhound that fit his description the same day. So Dynomite has a home waiting on him already and probably will not be available for adoption. Dynomite is a mostly white guy with just a small spot of red brindle over one ear and one eye and some dark ticking (freckles) that show through his white fur. His sire is Ardkill Jamie and his dam is JT's Petey Girl. Dynomite raced at 71lbs and was born on April 20th of 2009. He is such a sweet guy. Very outgoing and waggy. He loves people. He is too interested in chasing cats to be able to live with them. |

This gorgeous little girl won't turn 2 until January 4th. She raced at 62lbs. Her sire is Fuzzys Cannon and her dam is WW Waffle Crisp. We have adopted out several dogs that are related to her that have made great pets. She just retired from the Ebro Race Track in Florida after a very short career. Licor was shy at first but did wag her tail and approached us after a little while so we figured she would warm up pretty fast. The kennel staff said she was friendly at the track where she was comfortable but she was a little overwhelmed at first in her foster home. Licor is mostly white with some black spots and black patches over both eyes. One black patch runs all the way down to her mouth. Very cute girl. She was nervous on leash at first but is already getting much better and is starting to walk right beside you. She did pass her cat and small dog test at the track and is living with a small dog in her foster home so should be fine living with small animals. She is warming up in her foster home and has learned that she doesn't need to run everytime the TV is turned on. She crates very quietly and really likes to be in her crate especially if she is a nervous. She is so sweet and is playful and has already started playing with her foster family and their dogs. The fast movements and loud noises that small kids make have really scared her and she runs away from children or hides in her crate so we think she would be more comfortable in a home without small kids. Older calm children that will let her come to them when she is ready would be fine. Licor does seem to be more fond of women than men and has bonded more with her foster mom than her foster dad. She is definitely a shy little girl that will need some time to warm up and get comfortable in a new home. |

Ursala is a cute fawn girl that loves people. She raced at 61lbs and is 2.5 years old. Her birthday is June 3rd. Ursala's sire is Farloe Black and her dam is WJS Trigger. She seems like a cute, happy, fun girl that is outgoing and very sweet. She does have a pretty high prey drive so won't be able to live in a home with cats or very small dogs. She loves toys and can be a bit of a toy hoarder. What cute expressive eyes! She has done very well with the 2 year old child in her foster home and will choose to lay close to her when she is playing. Ursala seems like she will be a great dog for a home with small kids. She did great over the holidays with guests and everything going on. She doesn't seem to be nervous or bothered by much of anything. Ursala has the prettiest eyes that look like she spent a long time making them up. |

Buddy is a medium sized guy that raced at 74lbs. His birthday is July 30th and he is 3 years old. Buddy's sire is the famous Lonesome Cry and his dam is Bee Bee so he is related to several dogs that we have placed already. Buddy seems to be a little too interested in chasing cats so will need a home without them. Buddy is very loving, happy, friendly guy and wants to be with people. When people leave he needs to have other dogs around. He doesn't do well being left entirely by himself and gets stressed. Buddy is a super sweet guy that is very loving. |

Goody is a gorgeous, little, shiny black male that was originally adopted out through the track adoption kennel at the Orange Park Race track in Jacksonville. He is a small male that raced at just 66lbs. He is already home acclimated and has excellent house manners after living in a home since 2010. His sire is WW Apple Jax and his dam is Sunsands Lilgirl. His birthday is July 10th. Goody is just a little bit shy at first but warms up pretty fast. He is mainly a little nervous in new surroundings or around new people he doesn't know but after a few meet and greets has started going up to strangers to get petted. His foster home said that it took him about a month to really warm up and really be comfortable enough to let his goofy side come out. Goody was returned by his previous owners because they said he started being bothered by the two toddlers in his home. He was very tolerant and good with them for a year and a half before they became too much for him. Goody needs a home with older kids that are good with dogs or no kids so he will be comfortable. He has been very well behaved in his foster home and is good with their small dogs and other greyhounds. Goody is a calm, well behaved boy and once he has settled and is comfortable he has cute short bursts of energy and silliness. In the morning he will come out of his crate slowly and calmly then turn around and play bow and pounce toward you trying to get you to play with him. He enjoys running and playing with a young greyhound in his foster home and seems like he might make a good playmate for another dog. Goody is a ready made pet that will easily transition into just about any situation. This is a good little boy that is quiet, easy and well behaved but is a fun guy that does like to play and be silly sometimes. He will be very loving with his family once he gets past his initial shyness. Goody has been in foster care for a long time and is hoping for a home for Christmas. |
