Additional Details:
Owen just arrived from the Bolton Farm in the Orlando FL area. He has been there since he retired from racing in March of 2014. Owen was a fantastic racer and was one of the fastest racers in the country when he was racing. Racing at the top AA level and winning Stakes Races at Southland in Arkansas, which is one of the top tracks in the country. Owen placed 2nd in the 2012 Southland Festival of Stakes Sprint. He also raced at Abilene KS, Birmingham AL and Sanford Orlando tracks during his career. Owen won his owners nearly $70,000 during his career of only 60 races. He was retired to stud so he could pass on his good genes to lots of future racers. Owen is ready to retire from that life now and be just a pet. We placed Owens brother Odell too when he retired from racing. He was also a star racer and the 2012 Bob Balfe Champ so good genes run in the family. Owen raced at 75lbs and is around that now. He is a beautiful rare blue brindle and is just stunning. He has a thick furry farm coat now from being outside a lot on the farm but that will become more sleek as he is in the house more. Owen seemed friendly when we visited the farm recently. They told us that Owen felt he was the top dog on the farm, and wasn't always tolerant of other males, so he may need a home without other male dogs. Owen will turn 8 on May 2nd. Owen passed his cat test easily without much interest in them. He does love kids and has several that come to the farm that he loves to play with. His favorite is a 3 year old.
